I breathe in a society where double standards prevail.
I breathe in a society where women are being killed in the name of honor.
I breathe in a society where children are raped.
I breathe in a society where children are sexually abused even by their teachers.
I breathe in a society where every girl faces molestation.
I breathe in a society where physical harassment is just a daily affair.
I breathe in a society where a child is raped by his Qaari in the most sacred place Masjid.
I breathe in a society where women are not safe even in their graves.
I breathe in a society where I’m scared of the Police.
I breathe in a society where no action is taken against a man who sold child porn videos for billions.
I breathe in a society where no one takes action against the kidnappers.
I breathe in a society where bribery is as common as breathing.
I breathe in a society where the criteria to accept a girl for marriage is dowry.
I breathe in a society where women are killed for not bleeding at first night.
I breathe in a society where again women are killed or divorced for not giving birth to sons.
I breathe in a society where everyone fails to recognise the mutilation of children for beggar armies.
I breathe in a society where media just works for ratings.
I breathe in a society where women march on Aurat Maarch not for rights but to insult men.
I breathe in a society where Government is a sign of failure.
I breathe in a society where my self-respect is considered a garbage.
I breathe in a society where ‘Vanni’ still exist.
I breathe in a society where women still have no access to education.
I breathe in a society where many many graduates and masters are jobless.
I breathe in a society where I’m judged by everyone regardless of the fact that HE is the only judge.
I breathe in a society where vulgarity is a pride.
I breathe in a society where a daughter’s birth isn’t celebrated.
I breathe in a society where my voice isn’t considered an opinion.
I breathe in a society where women work like slaves for their husbands.
I breathe in a society where men have every right to raise their hand on women.
I breathe in a society where we fight each other on the basis of sects.
I breathe in a society where we tend to put each other down on the name of Religion.
I breathe in a society where bullying is everyone’s hobby.
I breathe in a society where corruption is an obligation.
And yes I breathe in a society where a little girl was killed just because she set some birds free mistakenly.
Yes you heard it right.
Was it a crime?
If yes, show me that DAMN rule book!
And I’m pretty sure justice will not serve.
Now you realize how I breathe in that society!
I feel suffocated in that society.
What do you think I inhale, breathing in that society?
Depression, stress, tension, trauma, anxiety.
Whoever reading this, just think for a second.
How are we surviving?
Does it have an end?
Should I expect a better tomorrow?
Will Prime Minister bother to take any strict actions against the culprit?
Where is the moral social media police who always asks ‘are you Muslim?’?
Where are the NGO’s?
Where are the Organizations working for human rights?
Do we need more girls to be killed to give pride of honor to our country?
Need more blood?
This society is devoid of empathy.
Rest in peace, the government, police, courts, media and our patriotic people.
